At Amakipkip, we want you to love what you wear. However, if something isn’t right, we’re here to help. This Return & Exchange Policy outlines your rights and our procedures in accordance with South African consumer law, including the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA), and where applicable, international guidelines such as the European Union Consumer Rights Directive.
You have 30 calendar days from the date of receiving your order to request a return.
To qualify for a return:
- The item must be unused, unworn, and in the same condition that you received it.
- All tags, product packaging (e.g., boxes, sleeves, casing), and proof of purchase (receipt or order number) must be included.
- Returns must be pre-authorised — items sent back to us without submitting a return request will not be accepted.
To begin the return process:
- Contact us at info@amakipkip.com, or via your customer account at account.amakipkip.com.
- Clearly include your order number, product(s), reason for return, and any relevant photos if the item is defective or damaged.
- If the return is due to a change of mind, incorrect sizing, or other non-defective reasons, the customer is responsible for:
- Return courier costs to our store.
- Outbound shipping costs for the replacement item.
- If the return is due to our error (wrong item sent, product defect, or transit damage), we will:
- Provide a prepaid return label or organise a collection at no cost to you.
If you would like to exchange an item:
- The fastest method is to request a return for the original item.
- Once accepted, place a new order for your desired product, subject to availability.
- Exchanges follow the same inspection and courier procedures outlined above.
The following items cannot be returned or exchanged:
- Sale items / clearance stock
- Balaclavas (for hygiene reasons)
Please contact us if you are unsure whether your item qualifies.
Please inspect your items immediately upon delivery. If your product:
- Arrives damaged or defective, or
- Is incorrect (wrong item, wrong size, etc.),
Contact us within 48 hours at info@amakipkip.com with photos and order details. We’ll investigate and resolve the matter swiftly — via replacement, repair, or refund.
Once we receive and inspect your return:
- If approved, your refund will be processed back to your original payment method within 10 business days.
- We will notify you via email upon approval and completion.
- Please note: Refund times depend on your bank or card provider. If 15 business days have passed and you have not received the refund, contact us.
If your order is shipped to an EU country:
- You have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason, under the EU Consumer Rights Directive.
- You are eligible as long as the item is unworn, unused, with all original tags and packaging intact.
In line with Section 56 of the South African Consumer Protection Act, you are entitled to:
- A replacement, refund, or repair if an item is defective within six months of purchase.
- Compensation for reasonable loss if a product fails to meet acceptable quality standards and causes further damage.
Amakipkip reserves the right to inspect returned goods to determine eligibility under this law.
